Classic Chic Bridal Shower

This past weekend I had the honor of planning my cousin’s bridal shower.  When discussing the event with the Maid-of-Honor we decided we wanted a very classic, elegant and girly theme.  First off was our color scheme.  The bride LOVES gray. Her home is gray, the bridesmaid dresses are gray, so what better background color to go with.  And when you think of colors that go well with gray, pink was the first color that came to mind.  Especially for a Summer Bridal Shower.  So I designed invitations to incorporate those colors with a gold accent.  This invitation really set the stage for the rest of the showers decorations.

The cake table was the first item you saw when you walked into the room.  A large “Love” balloon was placed behind the table to create the backdrop.

On the other half of the cake table a “W” (initial of grooms last name) was placed for guests to sign messages for the bride-to-be and groom.

How gorgeous is this cake!  I love a naked cake with fresh flowers. And it tasted amazing!  I get so excited when I hear guests compliment a cake.  A cake should always look good and taste great.

I wanted to create something fun for the guests to do other than typical party games.  On this table a Mimosa Bar and Photo Frame complete with props was set up.  Guests were encouraged to make their own mimosas, which helped them to mingle more rather than just sit at their designated tables.

Using the invitation as inspiration a vendor was able to make this beautiful photoframe.  Guests had so much fun taking pictures with the Bride-to-Be and eachother.  And the Maid-of-Honor can take the frame on the bachelorette party weekend since we tagged it “From Miss to Mrs” instead of just bridal shower.

A shower wouldn’t be complete without favors and prizes.  The favors were delicious sugar cookies decorated to match the theme.  Game prizes were spa items from Ulta, because who doesn’t love a little pampering every once in a while.

It was a beautiful party, celebrating an even more beautiful bride!

  1. The mimosa bar is awesome. I used the same concept for a restaurant I managed on Sundays. Mimosa’s, beach tunes and live music.
The frame for photos is beautiful! That’s one of the most fun things to participate in at showers and gatherings is a photo prop!

  2. What a great idea to start with the invites and keep the entire party on theme! This looks so put together and well thought out, congrats on a successful bridal shower (and an enjoyable read)!
